Well, it definitely is melodic as hecc! You picked some nice chords and a good melody, but that lead at the end... I dunno how I feel about that one. Also, the mixing. The chords are way too loud, whole the lead has kinda "melted" into the background. One last thing: I've never used Soundtrap, so I don't know if you can do sidechain in it. You can find a bunch of tutorials on how to do it. If you can't do it in Soundtrap, then I guess you'd have to change your DAW.
P.S. Sorry for the essay, didn't mean to brag so much

Yeah I'm kidna new to this - and the chords are like supposed to be kinda loud but maybe i overdid it? Anyway thanks for the advice :)

Well, there is at least one issue- that loud noise on top of the track. I don't know what it is, but it's definitely NOT a sub- bass.Though, I do understand that you have a problem with bass at the time, so good luck with fixing it!
Secondly, try adding sidechain. There are tons of videos on Youtube that explain the basics and different methods of sidechaining. It can make the mix a lot cleaner.
I wish you good luck with your work and a happy New Year!

I wish, man, I wish!
Just my laptop suddenly spikes on 80% CPU load when I try to edit the song.

I will get new headphones anyways, the Creative Aurvana Live.

Amazing, simply amazing. It was really pleasant to listen to it from start to finish. Yeah, it wasn't changing much, safe for that end bit, but the main theme and the feel are solid throughout the whole thing, which is a good thing.
I'm really looking forward to see what you'll do with Ableton, since I don't have and can't afford the full version.
I wish you good luck with your work!

Nice! The melodies are really cool and it feels like they make a turn out of nowhere, adding that badass flavour. I know that I can explain poorly just anything, but I'm trying my best.
Now snare on the other hand sounded like at times it didn't punch through as much, everything was louder than it.
P.S. I agree with you, constructive criticism is a must-have for a musician,it's helping you move forward and work on your flaws.
P.S.2. Sorry for the essay, can't help it

Curruff responds:

It's okay! I kinda love essay reviews, as they give me a lot to reflect and improve on.
I'm glad you liked the song. I personally think those melodies are one of the best I've made yet.
I didn't really think of the snare levels when making this (I don't think about them at all, really) but now that I look back on it... yeah, they are kind of weak. Something to take into consideration on my next song.

Glad to see you back. This makes me feel not really energetic, but sorta motivated, like "yeah, I can do it!" type of feeling. But that second part of the song is...Interesting.
Also those stock samples work really well together.
I wish you good luck with your work

Honestly, I haven't felt the kind of vibe this song has for some time now. It's like a pirate theme, but with some cheesiness and 8-bit feel added to it-really interesting! And the melodies complement each other in a nice way. Luv it!
I know that I'm late, but it's the thought that counts, right?
I wish you good luck with your work

DeadbushiaYT responds:

Thanks dude! Im also uploading an 8-bit theme rn.

Hey, that's actually a good song! Definitely feels spooky sometimes, but the last melody isn't exactly scary, but kinda sad ( I see you threw in some minor scale stuff). My guess is that the low end is intentionally lacking. Because of those kicks (?) in the beginning I thought that it's gonna be a trap song, but you just played with expectations of the listener. And it didn't make it worse, even better imo!
I gotta say, these melodies are pretty good, but they all carry very different moods. Don't try to layer a bunch of them, cuz sometimes less=better. But that choice is always up to you.
Once again, I wish you good luck with your work!
P.S. Sorry for the essay, didn't mean to write so much

MarK-VX responds:

It's quite alright, I love me some wall of text. :)
And yes, the bass was made like that on purpose. 808 for life!

I agree, the song feels kinda "heavy", as in too much stuff is happening at once.
Next song will hopefully be better!

Until then!

I actually thought that it's gonna be terrible or/and earrape, but that's a really good work for your first time. There's definitely a potential and I'm looking forward to it.
I wish you good luck with your work!

MarK-VX responds:

Thank you so much! It feels so good knowing that someone appreciates your work.
More are definitely on the way, FL Studio Lite is a pain to work in. (You cannot open projects, so I must do the songs in one sitting.)

Once again, thank you so much!

Nice work! Still better than I can do in terms of House tracks. And I can say that you can really improve in that genre.
But now, to the not-so-good part. It's clear that you tried to add a bunch of melodies with dat bass. A good thing, but a different bass would sound better imo. And a more pronounced sidechain can add some really interesting effect, just try and experiment! If you wanna continue to post some beats on Soundcloud, that's fine too. I suggest to make one angry beat tho, like, really punchy.
Good luck with your work!

Ayitstrip responds:

Thanks for the feedback fam I just threw the bass together in serum because I was learning how to use the program a bit better so this was sort of a test track.

I'm just a guy who makes music, nothing interesting. Why are you even here?
